ELMS - 4 Hours of Portimão 2024

Algrave Pro Racing LMP2 car

When people think of motorsport, their minds often jump straight to the cars—the sleek designs, the speed, and the engineering. While photographing race cars is always thrilling, there’s something even more fascinating about the people behind the machines. Last week, I had the unique opportunity to spend time with Algarve Pro Racing, documenting not only their cars but also the teamwork, dedication, and precision that fuel their success.

From early morning preparations to late-night adjustments, the behind-the-scenes action is where the real magic happens. My focus for this project was to capture these moments through both photography and videography, highlighting the human side of motorsport. Whether it was intense moments in the garage or candid shots of the crew working in unison, every image and video clip told a story of passion and hard work.

What stands out most in motorsport photography is the sheer amount of effort it takes to keep everything running smoothly. It’s not just about fast cars or great shots—it’s about understanding the dynamics of a team and showcasing their commitment. Each member of Algarve Pro Racing plays a crucial role, from the engineers to the mechanics, and capturing this was both a challenge and a rewarding experience.

As someone who loves the combination of automotive photography and storytelling, this week was a reminder of why I enjoy what I do. Cars are incredible, but it’s the people that bring them to life. I’m excited to share more content from my time with Algarve Pro Racing and continue exploring the world of motorsport photography.
